Agenda Day 2- Workflow

Today is my second day of DFI and I am really excited to get more knowledge and information that can enhance my knowledge and I can implement new things in my class for teaching and learning.

The Agenda for today's workshop was to :-

  • Connecting with each other- To learn
  • Connecting with Manaiakalani - to Create
  • Resources shared      - Shared

The workshop started with Karakia by Vicki Archer. Our facilitator Vicki gave as some tips and tricks that we can use in Hapara teacher's dash board that we use in class. I learned about the function of the use of star on Hapara that is useful for me to add the class in my class list. Later, we were put in digital bubble groups where we shared our knowledge and understanding what we learned till then and how we were implementing our learnings.

Connecting with Manaiakalani

This session was facilitated by Dorothy. She explained the pedagogy of Manaiakalani. So today's focus was on Learn/ Ako.

Deep dive in to Google Keep:

I learned today about Google Keep. I added this as an Chrome extension from keep.google.com. We can put notes, reminders and its easily accessible. we can collate notes reminders. It can capture your thoughts from any device. we can use it anywhere to put our notes and keep them on fingertips type in our content. we can add collaborator to keep notes. We can use a place location reminder . we can change the color. we can put google keep on phone we can use this for getting the text from the image. Tt can grab the text from any picture text and we can use on google doc.

It is utilized to grab the text from photo from any PLD. I can also add voice memos to hear and keep notes. It can also  be intenerated with google doc on the side we can write feed back

we can add sticker to the students work for feedback. Google keep is really helpful tool to keep reminders for professional and personal life eg. to make a shopping list:)

Chalk'n talk with  Amie:

I have Organized my Gmail. I had changed the theme of my Gmail. I have learned that we can change or schedule email timings and we can customize that according to the time and date. Advance option ability to create templates. I have added my signature to the email. we were given time to explore our email and made some changes that we have learned.

Google Calendar Maramataka:   By Vicki Archer

We can assess calendar from calandar.google.com. I have used google calendar to send meet  invites to my students during hybrid learning. I used this tool for recording my lessons that can be seen by the students who were away at that time and they could hop in and check what was done in class and the recording and the document that was shared during that lesson stays there.

I learned today we can add breakout rooms by using Calendar.

Deep Dive: taming your tabs

How we can keep on the tabs and tracks them efficiently? because every opened tab use the processing power.  Learned how to make a bookmark bar and a folder and pinning a tab is very important not to lose the content. For my today's session I have pinned my agenda of DFI so that I can't loose it. I have added one extension one tab to my chrome that is a very helpful tool to put more tabs at a single place.

Learned about the priority workspace that I can make on drive.

I have sent an Google calendar invite to Manpreet and than I had selected one blog Baby Possum. We had discussed about the post from the Manaiakalani mail out.

  • We discussed about the teaching design behind the post.
  • What was the learners response in the post content?
  • Who responded to the post how it will enhance the learning of the child?
