Connecting with Manaiakalani - By Vicki Archer
Todays focus was on to Create: For keeping our young people engaged. Vicki mentioned about Life long kindergarten group how they were using and developing technology and creativity to achieve the goal of a world of playfully creative people, who constantly invent new opportunities for themselves and their communities. In New Zealand, the learner is at the center of the learning and all the lessons are developed by the teacher according to the need of the students.

Challenges for being creative: How to plan and run a lesson and how it will work for some students? we need to do different stuff in order to learning to happen.
How can teachers empower learners and Implement "create" in classroom?
- Giving them choices, proving them relevant knowledge and information, by developing skills, building capacity and scaffolding.
- Able to collaborate with the peers. share Ideas and make connection with learning.
Hence, as a teacher we can provide more opportunities to create the content rather than consumers in the space.
Goals of Manaiakalani: Motivation of the learner , utilizing the technology, learning from what students have shared and giving feedback what the students have create.
Chalk and talk with Amie: How as teachers we are going to use and support pedagogy. Application for learning: Digital content is very effective and rewindable. Empower our learners to create collaborate and connect.
I learned about the YouTube and how to make a channel on it. We can add playlist and share with students. We can embed a video in our blog.
I also learned about snipping of the video (whatever I need to share with my students). First we need to copy the link of video and then put it on Google slides and there is a section named formatting of the video where we can edit the timings of the video and share with the students:)

Deep Dive Media| He Ruku Hōhonu - By Vicki
We watched a video created by Google that was created using emotional connections and utilizing the music. video is a creativity tool . YouTube was launched in 2005 with intentions to provide opportunity for people to become media people. I came to know about SISOMO Sight sound Motion 2005 that is the media company that helps to engage people.
I learned how to create different type of media namely filmmaking tools, using of landscape view, placement of filming , lighting adjustment etc.
I learned about variety of different apps e.g. Screencassify that can be used to make videos.
There are few more apps
like Imovie and Quicktime for Macbook.
The Only limitation with the free tools that you can make a video only for 5 minutes. However that is quite useful for the kids and for the teachers to create and share.
I also learned about Green screen: by putting ourselves at different location.
Chalk ‘n Talk Google draw: Learned tips and tricks of using Google drawing. How we can change the picture mask the picture and we can trace the picture and edit the drawing. I learned about the polylines to create the drawings.

Chalk ‘n Talk: Google Slides by Amie
Google slides are really important tool for the learners. I learned to use animation for making Google slides more interesting.
For making animation, we use command D to duplicate the slides. We can change the size of slide by using page set up. We can add voice note by using Mote tool on our slides. Overall it was fruitful session and I really enjoyed learning new aspects of DFI.
